For years I’ve lived without a cutting machine other than my Sizzix Big Shot and I’ve always felt something was missing. I’m to the point in my life where I need more choices and better capabilities.
A few months back I restarted my jewelry line by adding leather & faux leather earrings. This got me started on a quest to find an easier way to cut shapes for jewelry. I came very close to the Cricut Maker but after reading this blog and a few others I decided the Air Explore 2 would meet my needs.
I searched for a really great deal and found this bundle at Walmart for only $245! It came with the Cricut Basic Tool Set, Cricut Vinyl Core Sampler, Cricut Iron On Black and Cricut Iron On White – the perfect getting started bundle. It also includes a 12″ x 12″ Light Grip cutting mat & fine tip blade which work perfectly for paper, cardstock and even vinyl.
Once you finish setting up the machine (which is SUPER EASY) you can access the Cricut Design Studio. A free trial comes with your purchase but I opted to subscribe for even more projects & templates. Since it’s arrival I’ve already cut vinyl and made some really cute cards.
I have some amazing projects in my queue so stay tuned for more projects & tutorials for this amazing machine! My next test is cutting leather for my jewelry collection.
