Hello again. I know “Thirsty Thursday” is a little cliche, but I’m sitting here literally parched, dreaming of delicious drinks to imbibe myself with. So if you are reading this, make sure to grab a cold (or hot!) one before you do!
Here in Wilmington we have this great place called Port City Java. It’s like Starbucks but it’s local and it’s better. Right now I really, really want a Mocha Shake – a delicious blend of ice cream, espresso and chocolate. Mmmm. I would post a picture but their dumb site is rights protected so I can’t 😦 You’ll just have to trust me on this one, it’s delish!
If today wasn’t a lot warmer than say, yesterday, what I would want would be something hot. And that something hot? You guessed it, Irish Coffee!
Here’s a great basic recipe:
8 oz. hot coffee
2 oz. Bailey’s
2 oz. half and half
1 tsp. sugar
Mojave Green Rattlesnake Martini
1 1/4 oz. 1800 Anejo Tequila
1 1/4 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
1/2 oz. Midori
Add ingredients to an iced filled shaker. Mix and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a long twist of lemon.
