Thirsty Thursday – Because, well, it’s Thursday!

Hello again. I know “Thirsty Thursday” is a little cliche, but I’m sitting here literally parched, dreaming of delicious drinks to imbibe myself with. So if you are reading this, make sure to grab a cold (or hot!) one before you do!

Something Cold…

Here in Wilmington we have this great place called Port City Java.  It’s like Starbucks but it’s local and it’s better.  Right now I really, really want a Mocha Shake – a delicious blend of ice cream, espresso and chocolate. Mmmm.  I would post a picture but their dumb site is rights protected so I can’t 😦  You’ll just have to trust me on this one, it’s delish!

Something Hot…

If today wasn’t a lot warmer than say, yesterday, what I would want would be something hot.  And that something hot?   You guessed it, Irish Coffee!

Here’s a great basic recipe:
8 oz. hot coffee
2 oz. Bailey’s
2 oz. half and half
1 tsp. sugar

Something Naughty…

Mojave Green Rattlesnake Martini

1 1/4 oz. 1800 Anejo Tequila
1 1/4 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
1/2 oz. Midori

Add ingredients to an iced filled shaker. Mix and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a long twist of lemon.

Something Classy…

This delicious Malbec by Dos Lomos has become one of my favorite wines.  It’s Argentinian, delicious and best of all, inexpensive!!  And my favorite place to pick up a bottle is our new local wine shop – Wilmington Wine
